We use the oriental lacquer technique (raw lacquer processing), which involves multiple passes of hand-sanding and polishing. Each layer of lacquer needs to be completely dry before being applied again, a process that can take up to several weeks. Typically, 10-20 layers of lacquer are applied, resulting in a deep color and unique texture.
