Most people think it makes sense to carry a lighter if you smoke. It could not be further from the truth. People who take a lighter every day focus on the preparation and usually take them as part of a more extensive collection of EDC items.
Does carrying a lighter everyday make sense?
Why do you have to carry a lighter with you every day? You should have a lighter for all these situations:
- Burn Lines off Your Clothes
- Lit candles in a power outage.
- Open the bottle.
- Durability
Burn Strings off Your Clothes
Anyone, who has been in the military, knows that a lighter is one of the best ways to get those bulk strings out of your clothes. Just turn all channels on the fire and let it burn for a second or two until the chain goes. Extinguish the flame before it gets to your clothes. It is excellent because it gets rid of the chain, and it prevents you from pulling and pulling and pulling on a rope that can ruin your clothes otherwise.

Open a bottle.
This old trick is a great way to open bottles that do not have a twist-off cap. Grip the bottle in one hand near the bottle cap. Then just put the base of the lighter under the bottle cap using your index finger as a prop and push down on the top of the lighter.
Light a candle in a power outage
The last thing you want to do is have to look for lighter when you lose power at night. Having a lighter around also allows you to use it as a source of emergency light.
Durable
The lighter should be durable and weather resistant. Rain, snow, sun, etc. nothing should be able to prevent it from working. Also, it must not break easily either. All its parts should do their parts correctly and never break. All its parts should do their parts correctly and never break.
